ah - like this.

Photobucket the angel is undoubtedly a Ted McKeever copy - I loved his Metropol and Transit graphic novels.

16 years ago - new book

1996 - book of angels. not sure why - the film, Prophecy, the comic book, Preacher maybe.
hardback sketchbook - 348 x 330 - odd shape.
Photobucket
the inside front cover - a lot in this book was drawn with Rotring calligraphy pens...

Photobucket
..or brush and (Rotring) ink.

Photobucket
copies of Gustav Klimt drawings.

Photobucket
makes me think of Nick Cave.

Photobucket
portrait of a (forgotten) politician

Photobucket
portrait of a playwright.
a lot of the portrait sketches are done by looking at the photograph, but not the drawing/sketchbook whilst most of the drawing is done. this technique is quite hit and miss, but can lead to some interesting results where things don't quite fit properly.

Photobucket
easter then, easter now.

Photobucket
no idea.

Photobucket
again, no idea. this is one of those 'blind' portraits I mentioned, though. hatching, shading and other embellishments are added after the basics are drawn.

Photobucket
from life, from a past life.

A few years ago I saw a guy, probably about 40, standing outside a service station smoking a pipe. It looked so weird - you just don't see pipe smokers anymore, do you?
